Corporate Censorship. When Mega Corporations Control All of The Information That You Hear and See

A long long time ago in memories long since forgotten, in a country far far away, there used to exist hundreds of independent newspapers, television stations, and radio stations. People would regularly tune in to these local stations and read these local papers and go about their day, content that they were aware of the day’s current events and all was well.

As with all things over time, this vast network of local independent media companies slowly gave way to networks and publishing houses (Hearst for example), as consolidation crept in and new technologies, such as cable television and the Internet gradually became mainstream. Thus began the end of the Freedom of Information. Truth, alas, had become an endangered species.

As recently as the year 2000, six corporations controlled almost 90% of the broadcasting pipes and the content that flowed through them. In the 1950’s, 90% of media was independent. Fast forwarding to 2020, there are now five mega corporations that control approximately 95% of all media broadcasting networks, and three corporations that control almost 100% of the internet data pipes in the United States. Radio Networks , Newspapers, ….
