A List of Reasons Why Breitbart is Fake News
1. Breitbart scrapes articles from other news sites and just summarizes them
Examples from today’s blog articles:
From CNN: Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway said Thursday on CNN’s “OutFront” that if top secret documents were retrieved during the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, it could be the thing that takes him down.
From Fox News: Lara Trump said Thursday on FNC’s “The Story” that her father-in-law, former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, FL, being raided by the FBI has “solidified a lot of enthusiasm behind” a 2024 presidential run.
And it goes on to scrape and summarize MSNBC, Fox, CNN, the New York Times, Washington Post, and so on. The articles are typically half a page long and surrounded by dozens of advertisements.
2. Breitbart pilfers the main headlines from other websites late and passes them off as their own
Typically one to two days later, articles reappear on Breitbart that are rehashes of all of the articles that have been circulating on other news sites. While this is a form of scraping, possibly a form of plagiarism, it is typically lazy reporting to once again pass news off as original Breitbart content that did not originate at Breitbart at all.
Examples from today’s blog includes articles on Twitter reimplementing their midterm election censorship policy and an article slamming the CDC for relaxing various Covid 19 pandemic restrictions.
3. Breitbart just scrapes and embeds tweets from Twitter and portrays tweets as news
